Teleportd is looking to fill 3 full-time developer positions based in Paris, France.

  • One Full-Stack Engineer
    You know how to do just about anything… with NodeJS.
  • One Data Scientist
    You’d be able to put in jail all the drug dealers in the US faster than the FBI out of the 10m+ data points we receive from Instagram every day (hint: #weed…)
  • One Front-End Engineer
    a pixel out of place is as painful as barb wire and your’re secretely in love with d3.js

Who you are:

  • you’re looking for a full time developer position at a startup
  • you can code your way from front end to back end faster than anybody can teleport there
  • you’re interested in working on photos, “big data”, statistical analysis, computer vision…

  • you actually rock at coding, and have a particular taste for JS, nodeJS

Imagine a product line called “Plate”. Here are a few extracts from a Techcrunch article from 2025 doing a retrospective on Plate:

Plate is a set of devices (phone, surface, laptop, tv) that were launched in 2014 and shipped with a new OS called PlateOS. [...]

Plate devices have experienced such an incredible growth between 2015 and 2017 and took over Apple rapidly for one reason: When you bought a Plate, you would transparently have access to all PlateOS enabled devices through a very simple authentication process. [...]

All your data, all your apps, and all you environment came up automatically and transparently from the cloud and a very innovative data storage layer distributed across connected Plate devices [...]

Users started leaving their devices at home or at work and use computation where it was instead of transporting it. Plate devices where everywhere, but you had to buy one first!

Here’s the large project you’re in charge of: the “very simple authentication process” to access your environment on a foreign Plate device.

Suggest a User Experience Design you find compelling for that use case. Be creative! Think like we’re in 2014! Work on one part of that system (be it some crypto algo, a UI, a distributed authentication system, etc… whatever you want). Pick something that will let you impress us with maximum 2 hours of work.
